So, if you’re ready to experience your whitest smile yet, while also safeguarding your teeth and gums, professional teeth whitening from Smiles of Punta Gorda is the way to go. Our Punta Gorda, Florida team will move quickly once you call us at [phone] to request your cosmetic dentistry consultation with Dr. Martin. In the meantime, we have some good information about this great procedure below.
Professional Teeth Whitening Starts With A Dentist
Truth be told, you can get your hands on an over-the-counter teeth whitening product at pretty much every drugstore in town. These products ought to come with a warning or at least a “full disclosure” clause.
You see, these “bargains” are anything but a deal because they are never professional-grade or custom-designed. As such, they contain a much lower concentration of whitening agent. The whitening process can take longer and may not deliver the results you would want. Plus they are sometimes dangerous.
That’s on account of the lower concentration and the fact that those whitening trays will not fit closely. That can lead to spillage and overuse of the whitening product, along with irritation of the gums and soft tissues, and, in some cases, harm to tooth enamel.
You won’t experience any of those sort of troubles with us at the helm. At Smiles of Punta Gorda, we proudly offer Opalescence whitening programs. This professional take-home whitening system includes trays specifically customized for your smile to ensure even results. You can rest easy knowing that a dentist is directing the treatment.
Here’s how it works: After an initial examination, we’ll take impressions of your teeth and create your trays from those impressions.
The Real Work Begins At Home
Once you have been approved, and a treatment plan is in place, you’ll simply take home your custom-prepared trays and the professional-strength Opalescence whitening gel.
Opalescence actually comes in a variety of strengths. We’ll recommend the exact strength that will produce the results you want as you whiten your teeth comfortably at home. Normally, achieving the shade of white you want can be achieved in as little as a week or two. Obviously, there is no one-size-fits-all solution, so your whitening program may take longer, or not!
The important thing to keep top of mind with whitening your smile is to never overdo it. Keeping the gel in contact with your teeth too long is definitely not good for your oral health. Don’t worry, we’ll give you precise instructions on how to safely use your Opalescence teeth whitening program for maximum results.
You’ll also learn how to care for your whitening trays. If needed, we’ll also provide suggestions for taking care of your teeth as the process unfolds. Finally, to ensure that your at-home whitening results last beyond this summer, we’ll be happy to schedule regular dental cleanings and examinations moving forward.
